Business Course BAM

To give GIMA students a view into a company utilizing GIS, BAM invited some students to participate in their activities for a day at the company offices in Gouda.

Pubquiz Wageningen

After the alumni experiences presentations, the group headed to the city center of Wageningen for a pubquiz at cafe Buurman & Buurman. It turned out that studying GIMA does not guarantee that students new a lot about non-geographical subjects.

In this event, organized by the External Committee, 5 GIMA alumni presented how they dealt with writing a thesis, doing an internship and the life beyond GIMA at the WUR.

Feedback Session
3 April 2017
As a first responsibility of the new board of NODE, they got to host a feedback session, in which first year GIMA students got to give advice on how they could improve NODE in their tenure.

Change of Board
30 March 2017
The Second Board of NODE (Elisa, Simon, Stéphane, Djamilja, Ruben & Deniz) handed over their responsibilities to the Third Board of NODE, consisting completely of first year GIMA students. At cafe Buurman & Buurman Marije, Lotte, Thijs, Cynthia and Angelina were hammered into their functions.

Beerpong Tournament
9 February 2017
In the main room of cafe Jij & Wij over 20 GIMA students challanged each other in a beer pong tournament. After 8 long and close games, team "Simon, Sjors & hun Harem" took home the first place, which earned the team members the status of 'beer pong legends'.

Laser Tag
22 December 2016
GIMA students of all ages joined forces to battle each other in the laser tag arena of Ozebi Utrecht. Two long and hard battles were fought after which NODE secretary Simon Groen was the clear winner with twice the highest score across the board.

GIMA Day

The second edition of GIMA Day was held in Utrecht during the GIMA students' contact weeks there. With six company presentations and an extensive company fair, students got a chance to expand their network. Pictures

Dinner & Pubquiz
15 December 2016
A pubquiz testing the participants' knowledge on GIMA, geography and random stuff was held.

Bowling, Drinks & Bites
24 November 2016
On the 24th of November bowling skills were shown at Bison Bowling in Utrecht. As could be expected, Stéphane Pulles, treasurer of NODE remained the bowling champion, though he got bested by two people in one game.

Missing Maps Malawi
14 November 2016
As a follow up to the success of the September edition, a second edition was organized in Enschede. Dutch astronaut André Kuipers was also present as ambassador and keynote speaker of the project.

Geocaching Enschede
7 September 2016
In the first GIMA contact week of the new study year in Enschede, a geocache event was organized in the inner city of the city. Through different activities the freshman GIMA students got to know eachother, NODE and the city they spent 2 weeks of their time in.

Missing Maps Malawi
15 September 2016
In the second GIMA contact week in Enschede, a Missing Maps even was organized in the ITC Hotel. This specific event's purpose was to map areas in the African country Malawi.
